Wood Lake Books is the largest independent religious publishers in Canada, and its products are distributed through partners throughout the world. We have worked with them for almost 10 years, art directing and designing a number of their books, catalogs, and digital publications.

Get Me To the Church OnlineGet Me To the Church OnlineWe were actively involved in migrating them into electronic publishing, and into online promotion of their products. We developed their marketing site - called Joinhands (shown above left) - and initiated the development of an interactive Sunday School curriculum project. This large hybrid publishing enterprise was co-developed in partnership with Logos Productions and several of the large church denominations in Canada, the US, UK, and Australia. Another noteworthy project was Get Me To the Church Online, which we originally developed as a book/disk combination, with an associated website which has gone on to build on the original project. The bookcover is above right, and the splash page for the website is shown right.

As part of the promotional campaign we conducted on the Web, we developed a series of banners, some examples (shown original size) of which follow. Animated banners, although they require more bandwidth than static ones, are effective when used carefully. We show both kinds here. We also initiated email newsletters promoting individual authors, and Web discussion groups on topics of interest to church leaders. Altogether, these campaigns helped establish the company as a major force in interactive publishing.
